The organization Caritas Luxembourg and the Lesna Financial Institution have signed an agreement to finance and implement the project “Income Generation Activities”, aimed at supporting the creation of new businesses and the expansion of existing ones.

Caritas Luxembourg, through its office in Ferizaj, has allocated a fund of €50,000 dedicated to the regional project “Income Generation Activities” across the municipalities of Ferizaj, Gjilan, Kaçanik, Hani i Elezit, Kllokot, and Viti, with a financing term of up to two years.

The beneficiaries of this program will be individuals ready to start new businesses or expand their current enterprises. Businesses receiving this financing will benefit from an annual declining interest rate of 7%, one of the lowest rates in Kosovo and the region, offered by a financial institution such as IF Lesna.

Caritas Luxembourg has provided these funds to the Lesna Financial Institution interest-free, also for a two-year period, enabling Lesna to extend affordable credit to local entrepreneurs.

This initiative will encourage and empower small and medium enterprises across the participating municipalities, contributing to sustainable local economic growth.

By continuing such collaborations—previously also established with Caritas Switzerland—Lesna reaffirms its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and providing accessible financing solutions to communities throughout Kosovo.
